The Stach Family

Kris & Mya were married in the fall of 2013. Like any typical Minnesota couple, they enjoy spending their free time outdoors – hunting, swimming at the lake, working on DIY projects, and hanging out with family and friends. On January 14th, 2021, they welcomed a beautiful, healthy, little boy to round out their family of six. On the night before being discharged to bring their new baby home, Mya lost feeling in the lower half of her body. She was taken by ambulance to another hospital and immediately rushed into emergency surgery. It was then that the doctors discovered a ruptured disk had caused nerve damage to her spinal cord. The doctors were able to repair the disk but the damage to the nerve was irreversible. Many months of physical therapy and rehabilitation lie ahead. They are hopeful and ready to tackle it with a positive attitude, the same way they have with any challenge life has thrown at them. Although she may never walk on her own again, Mya stands firmly in her faith and is thankful to be alive and able to watch her children grow up. We cannot think of another family more deserving at this time to be gifted a year’s supply of diapers. They have been through more than their fair share of hardships, but they refuse to dwell on the negatives, and they remain confident that they can get through anything as long as they have each other.
